Air suspension

OK OK OK STOP!!! haha
before i get chewed out for this let me explain. I dont want it so that I can bump my ride up and down or any of that garbage. All I want it for is so that when I go into parking lots/driveways I can raise it and not scrape. Because I am getting a new paint job and on my old one, 99% of scratches and dings on my car are from scrapeing.

So anyways, to my question...does anybody know of a decent air suspension that will work with a 99 firebird? Like I said b4 Im not going to be using it to show off and abuse, just once in awhile to avoid scrapeing, so the only qualities I care about are reliablilty and longevity.

A friend of mine once did this same thing, and I've always thought about it. My only concern would be how it does on cornering and stuff. I know nothing about airbags and what not. If you find out you can do this, and still have a nice suspension to corner and speed with, then all I be right there with ya, lol.

Jeez man what size rims are those?? I'm guessing 22" maybe? lol
How do you like the suspension? Is it a huge difference over stock?

They are 22" and 11" wide in the rear. The ride is just as good as stock or better. also is still stiff enough to get on it and not loss anything from the line

I'm looking at some ZR1 replicas that are 19x10 for the rear and 18x8.5 front, but If it's not a drastic change in suspensioin I might just stick with conventional suspension upgrades.

it looks cool when its laid out though but if your going for a lot of performance then go with coilovers. although airlift just did a test from michigan where thate home office is to cali. they raced it and put i think 5k miles on it in all and no problems. they got it up to 165mph as well with the bag kit.

right after i installed mine i tested it and after 2 miles i got on the freeway and ran it to 100mph, with no problems

So it sounds like a pretty reliable setup, How much did the whole package cost you?

That's not too bad, right in between the two sets that ridetech has on their site. You're a lucky guy getting that for free!!
