Sunroof Add On?
Has anyone here added a sunroof to their car? How much was it, and are there any problems? Also who did the install? Only thing I regret about my car is not looking for one with a sunroof because I was in such a rush to hurry up and just buy one back then lol.

Highly doubt you'll be happy with an aftermarket sun roof. Why not trade yours in?

I would definitely stay away from an aftermarket sunroof. They're nothing but problems.

I haven't heard anything good from an aftermarket sunroof installation.

As a veteran of the custom van era, Worst Idea Ever. Factory sunroofs have drains built in to channel water away from the interior.....

I saw an aftermarket sunroof installed in a Hummer a few years ago and it was absolutely terrible... probably functioned even worse.

My wife had a 2005 Saturn Vue with a full-roof sunroof that was dealer installed. It looked fine, but as soon as you got any speed there was so much wind noise you'd have trouble listening to the radio. I'd never go with an add-on sunroof again.

I think it's unanimous.
Makes you wonder if anyone has installed one in a 5th gen...

Are there structural differences between 5th gens that have and don't have sunroofs?

Never installed one in a Camaro, but I've had them on several of my other cars. Never had an issue in 22 years. They're actually unlikely to leak if properly installed. Webasto makes good quality aftermarket sunroofs that carry a lifetime warranty on parts. I believe they also make a lot of OEM sunroofs. The place that installed mine also had a lifetime warranty on the installation.
My Camaro came with an OEM sunroof, but if it didn't I wouldn't think twice about having one installed.

The structural difference alone is enough not to do it. I looked at a cutaway difference between a factory roof with sunroof and one without. There are two support beams on either side of the factory one. Only one in the center of the mohawk and when you cut that out, there is not much left.
