CAI Cont
Seems like I gained a lot of space swaping them out under the hood. Not sure why the factory plastic is so monsterously huge, (and I'm really losing attic space storing all this crap!)
Anyway, I notice absolutely nothing power wise... then again, I am still running stock exhaust until FM figures it out. And I'm not really punching it on a regular basis either to notice throttle response. Hopefully the MPG come up a bit. As for sound- overall my exhaust tone sounds a little deeper now. I do notice (particularily with the top down) a deeper, louder growl under hard excelleration. I've heard at WOT it's supposed to scream, but haven't made it that far yet. Below are the final product pix. I did a before/after video, but I really didn;t notice enough difference in the video to make it worth posting.

Got on it a bit today- really couldn;t notice a difference in accelaration or performance with the K&N, but I DID hear a very throaty, deep growl that i never heard before! That alone was worth the $275!!!!

Drago,
Followed your build and your review after 700 miles, and I am presumming you have a few more miles on it at this point. I too was one who originally wanted a vert but pre-ordered not knowing when or if they would ever produce a convertible. It seems from what I have read you have only had very minor issues and one being the tonneau cover. With that being said do you think it is more of a design issue or you becoming more familiar with the tonneau cover itself? I look forward to hearing about your car in the future as I would like to see the longevity wear items on the vert like wind noise etc... I really like the way the car look and yours looks great. |

Honestly, I really cant complain about anything other than the tanneau cover. Since I put washers in the posts, its become.easier to install, and given me a little.more room to slide it back (thus more room to tuck under the deck and presumably acute better.) Im still a little concerned everytime I drive at hwy speed about it coming loose again, so far so good though. There are still wind ripples in it, but I guess that's to be expected with fabric. I still think they could have designed it better- maybe an additional clip or 2 in the rear... just my. 02 tho. I'll be driving it to Pony Wars II next month, so that should tack on.a few hundred more.miles. I might do an addition to my original review/post to.address anything new coming up. But so far, so good!

Kev,
Thanks for the info. Never really thought about the issue of the tonneau before this especially since I never have owned a Vert before but definitely something to think about, but I guess it would kinda suck bad for it to come flying off at highway speeds down the interstate. Reminds me of the Mayhem commercial for Allstate. Would be just my luck. Maybe it is just a minor issue that GM will have to work out especially since it is a new model. Have you tried contacting member " Chevrolet Custmoer Service" here. He may be able to help and know if anything is in the works as far as a fix for this, just a thought. |

My babys in surgery as we speak... black.gloss rally stripes getting painted. Double sand/coating to completely blend into clear coat, ie= no ridges.
Painter just called to tell me molding around convert top (attached w double sided tape) may break during removal... I need evryone on C5 to say a collective prayer for my car- got Pony Wars next weekend, can't afford a broken part right now!
