not sure about fuel range, but I drove to Mass from CT this weekend, about 2 hours of driving on the interstate, and I got a consistant 27 - 29 MPG on average between tolls and traffic. So it wasn't bad.

The window sticker on my car said the average mileage would be 21 MPG. Over the last 8-9K miles since the last DIC reset, my car has averaged 20.6 MPG for combined "city"/highway driving. So your car appears to be performing somewhat close to what would be expected; particularly if the amount of "city" driving is greater than "highway" driving. Short run mileage numbers aren't the most accurate, IMO, since the calculations are based on so little data. They are a snapshot of maybe one specific driving condition, and not indicative of what would be expected over the long haul.

Every time I refill I reset my Trip 1 and reset the MPG calculator. On the next refill I record what Trip 1 and MPG indicate. I also divide Trip 1 miles by the number of gals. it took to fill full. I like to compare the DIC MPG calculator vs. manual calculation to see if there is much of a difference. For the most part the difference is usually less than 1 gal. When I refill I am usually putting in 13 gals. for a range of about 245 to 280 miles from Trip 1 which avgs. about 18-19 mpg. I still think it should be better. I think I drive it pretty conservatively, hardly ever going over 4k rpm. Makes me wonder if I am shifting incorrectly or doing something wrong?

How much highway-cruising are you doing, though? If you're primarily putting city miles on it, then there may not be much you can do to improve your average. These heavy pigs have pretty decent highway mileage, but pretty low city. Mine is rated at 17/29MPG city/highway, although the convertibles take a little MPG hit (I think) because they weigh more.

My commute to work is once every 3 days. On my 2 days off is when I am city driving. I guess it's that 2 days of city driving bringing my mpg down.

My last long trip (500 miles round trip) I averaged about 28-29mpg which gave me an over 500 mile range. My usual commute is about 3.5 miles round trip and usually get 16-20mpg or as low as 13 in the winter due to extended warm-ups. Gotta agree with TeamLLT, no reason to get anything more 'economical' when the Camaro is pretty damn economical plus a permagrin all day!

The HHR it replaced didn't get any better mpg (2.5 L w/4spd auto) and all it gave me was a permagrimace!!!

Yep, I agree. As my friend says who has a 69 clone Z28 and 2011 1LT A6 "There's more to life than MPG".

Oh I agree completely. But since I don't have the WGAF MPG Camaro yet, I am happy with best of both worlds. Someday down the road I will get another one and never care about MPG again. The current one I have today is my back and forth to work car, show car, drag car, fun car etc etc.

I average 22.7 constant driving mixed all day for work. I just read an article in motor trend where they observed a real work average of 25 mpg on a 4 cylinder Accord. I'm not complaining for having 300+hp and a car that gets attention.

I should mention that when I added the black Ice-olator I did notice the build up on the valves that has been discussed. That makes me wonder if that is affecting my mpg? Also, I have been considering doing the Sea Foam cleaning for the intake but it seems that there there is quite the range of opinions on how effective that really is.
