Get a cam spec from BTR or Tick. Call them up and tell them what you have told us. You'll get a lot better info.

If so, why are you choosing to stroke your engine? I think you should decide now if you want to go road racing or 1/4 mile before making an engine build. http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/h...ement_rpm.html |

Cam is too small to achieve your goal.

i dont understand what you mean by sending this article and building a road course vs drag trip motor. if you mean if im going to be running over 5500rpm on average i should large bore small stroke my motor that's extremely impractical for an ls3 due to having to re-sleeve it for the over-sized bore. and either way if i was building this for a pure drag or road course car then i wouldn't fall below 5500rpm for either so a 416 stroker wouldn't be the right build. but i don't have that money and this isn't going to be a car pulled by trailer. but it was a good article to read just didn't see how it makes a difference. but maybe im missing something.

so it seems like everyone is recommending that i upgrade the valvetrain with the 416 stroker path. it makes sense to be. i was asking because i was not sure if it was needed but i take it that it is if i want to make any kind of n/a power. any other tips for the set-up? like am i looking at the right compression ratio?

550 is possible but you need the right cam shaft.

If you are looking for 550rwhp than yes you need a camshaft change. Are you running a stock LS3 intake manifold? |

currently still stock. was debating getting it ported or trying to find a used fast 102. from what i've seen the cost vs benefit of the fast 102 really isn't there
