Cool...

I just cacalled PFADT. They are transitioning to AFE at the moment. However, I found some PFADT tri y's on Phasteks website for $1,290. Not bad! Maybe AFE can beat that price. They are 1/78" though...a 5 HP is differnce from 2" is not gonna kill me.

That is the product listing for the old Pfadt Tri-Ys. You will notice the not saying they have been discontinued. I believe they are going to be priced a little higher when they are re-released.

Just received my 2" Kooks with cats from Apex on Thursday. Delivery is always speedy as always. They are in the trailer with the car and heading to Lingenfelter on Saturday for the 427 install. These will replace the 1 7/8" Kooks with cats. 2" will give me a few more HP I'm guessing.

I was always a kooks fan ..
But that being said how much of a difference is there really between those eBay headers ?
I have seen pics, and read about happy customers ,but how much is or is there really much of a power difference between the top brands and the high end knock off's that cost half the price ???

With the knock offs material and build quality can vary dramatically. In general they tend to have thinner flanges and sloppier welds which can lead to exhaust leaks. If you have a problem you are not going to have any customer support or a warranty to fall back on. In terms of performance, the knock offs usually lack features like merge spikes that help brands like Kooks outperform others. Not to mention when you buy those products you are encouraging the continued theft of American intellectual property and jobs.

Just installed a set of Kook's Longtube Headers and green high performance cats on Hobbes. I have them installed at Broadview Auto Services in Warranton, Virginia. Here are a couple of pics of the install and a link to the dynotune video as well. Can't figure out how to embed a video directly.

Here is a video I took while John was dyno tuning Hobbes after the Kooks install. Topped out at 434 RWHP with a conservative street tune.
