I wish we had checkpoints like that here.

They did one in Austin years ago on a Friday night. They had traffic backed up for miles.

Pictures were taken of the sides of the road littered with bags of beer bottles and cans, bags of weed, pipes, baggies of white powdery substances............. Of course, there were numerous vehicles turning around in the median...

I wish we could do something like that here in San Antonio. ....as far as I know, the random stops are no longer good here in TX.

I use the same technique for a cop as I do when the wife walks in angry.
Sit quietly and wait for them to start the conversation.
Admit to nothing until you know what has gotten you in trouble.

Doing this ensures that I usually don't get in trouble for something that the cop or Tammy doesn't know about.

ha ha try this.
Was on a forth of July headed to my brothers to do some shooting in the middle of nowhere. I get stopped for speeding. The rookie in training yells "We got guns!".
I stick my hands up throught the open t-top, yeah had 3 rugers in their cases in the back seat. I sit in the barditch until the run them all. Then they give me the speeding ticket and tell me to put them in the back.
At least i did not get shot!

Yeah...we sometimes get those in the news when there are done in busy areas known for drunk drivers. Backed up for hours! Luckily...the ones I've been in have been 2 min max. They line up like 10 cops along the side...so they check 10 cars at a time.

One thing that we do have in Cali...is that if you try to turn around...motorcycle cops go after ya. No joke!

That's how you know they are up ahead...when you see up to 5-10 motorcycle lines up on each side staring right as you like vultures as you pass up without their radars pointed at ya...you know its too late to turn around!
