4.10 gears

Is the 4.10s to much? (M6, cammed) This is my daily driver the loss in mpg doesn't really bother me much I mostly drive in town and the sometime highway on the weekend.

I do go to the drag strip with my car. I plan on making a lot more power on my car(stroker then blower)

If you're eventually adding a supercharger....then stick with 3.91's.....at least that's what I've been told. If you're going to stay purely N/A, then 4.10's would be reasonable. There, I just saved you like $300!!!

Yes! Factory GM (AAM) 3.91's can be ordered through any dealer (or some vendors) for right around $250. Aftermarket 4.10's or 4.11's will run you probably a minimum of $500.

4:10's with boost is not a good idea. Trust me I found out the hard way.
4:10's without boost was awesome.

How much difference is in the stocks then 3.91s?

I loved my 4:10s. It radically changed the feel of the car. It keeps the rpms in the go zone.

That should be it, the speedometer will have to be recalibrated. Gears will have to broken in. Watch out for wheel hop, rear trailing arms, bushings and subframe connectors are a good investment.

knew about the recalibration. How do you have to break them in?

It's been a while ... Drive for half hour intervals, change the diff fluid after 500 miles. Don't shock em for 500 miles. I think that was the deal..

If you're going to change out the gears....and since you have a manual transmission, I would highly suggest adding Jannetty's Billet Main Caps and either the Jannetty Posi-Mod, or change out the entire posi-unit for a Eaton TruTrac, especially since you are planning on adding "power adders" later. And a half install kit is a good idea to have just in case the installer might need additional or different shims. Get a pair of rear axle seals too. Break in simply consists of "taking it easy" for about 500 miles with very limited highway miles.

You'll need that stuff when you get boosted.
