you sure the card didnt say 97 and newer. ls1 didnt debut till 1997. most cam manufactors just list them as fitting ls1 still. they will work in the entire LS family line up with the correct cam sprocket of course.

Only problem you'll possibly have is a 3-bolt or 1-bolt cam sprocket. Unless you got the 3-bolt adaptor, then you're groovy.

The LS3s in the SS have a 1-bolt, and the earlier engines have a 3-bolt. Common conversion either way.

Lethal's cams are 3 bolt, and if you buy their kit, come with the correct sprocket

If you dont have the 3-bolt gear yet... buy a Cloyes Hex-A-Just 3 bolt timing set and actually degree your cam when you install it. I love how obsessed everyone is throwing a bullet proof chain on a stock timing set and having no idea if its true or not...

C5r chains by katech and fear no more.

Get rid of the chain tensioner and buy a 20 dollar Ls2/7 dampner because tensioners BREAK.

Melling pump 10295/6.

I notice you're beginning a trend of being a troll and a naysayer around the forums without having any substantial evidence to back up your banter. Please prove me wrong that you aren't indeed a troll.

When I installed my comp cam and timing set, I was supplied with the wrong cam gear. Mine was a three bolt but it had a single reluctor and the LS3 requires a four reluctor. The car started but did not run right and I got a code right away. It would seem that although Comp knows about this they did not change any of their part numbers. When I talked to them on the phone, I was told that they did not even have the right gear in stock. I had to order one from Maryland Speed and change it out. Just throwing this out to those who might not know. Comp may have updated since then (I did my install in February of this year). I did all my own install work (would explain why I did not catch the problem during install) but all the materials were specked by a vendor on here for my drivetrain and driving specifications.
