If I ever get my car I am going with the Davenport package that was shown here a couple weeks ago. Maybe minus the headers to start.

Big question is will this : GMPP 88958766
fit with the stock pistons and hyd lifters. It's only .570" lift, but with a 106.5° LSA and 239/251° int/ex duration at .050". I always liked GM parts. Big plus is if someone asks you if it has a big cam in it, you can honestly say it's Showroom Stock.

I have a tool for cutting valve reliefs on LSx engines without removing the pistons.
IIRC, Iskederian? sold it to me? I used it on our Z06.

This is the one I used, IIRC. Might still be in my tool box.
HOWEVER, the diameter of the LS7 valves is bigger, so mine won't work, you'd have to order based on valve size: http://www.iskycams.com/pdfcatalog/2004-05/page17.pdf

I'd move the LSA from 120.5 to 114-116.
Man that 211/230 split is ridiculous. I would probably go 224/232 I know, hardly any change but I like milder cams. Then a .580-.600 lift. Will pick up a few hp and sill have good drive ability. |

You guys don't need to reinvent the wheel...
Visit the Vette forum and see what people are running over there. Lots of proven combos.

Yah the cam specs talked about are way out for what most people run.
I ran a 240/250 .660/660 110+3 and it was fun. Drove good and sounded mean. If I could go back I would do something like a 236/246 630/630 114+3. Remember the 1.8 rockers mean the lift is going to be bigger, and the 427 can take a lot more duration/overlap and still drive good. I know plenty of people running 246/258 range cams in street cars making 600+rwhp n/a.
