TSP 231/236 springs?

I got my cam installed with the kit back in march with the PRC EHT .675 springs and just last week I got a knock. Pulled my valve covers off and 2 springs are busted. I never ran my car at the track and this was a daily driver to get me to and from school. I put on maybe 4-5k miles on it? Has anyone else experienced this with these springs? Which springs would you all recommend to put on now as I am not certain with putting the .675's back on. I've heard great stuff about BTR's .660 titanium springs.

This is a 231/236 .644/.613 cam

I have the BTR springs in mine. No issues so far. I'd be checking everything in your valvetrain setup to make sure it wasn't goofy geometry that broke your springs. It could have been bad springs. You could also keep breaking springs.

Aren't the btr and Manley .660 springs the same exact spring?

I am getting it checked out this Friday. Just trying to see what springs I should take the shop to install after they check it out.

tsp has really good springs, but like any performance spring you cant just get in the car and take off. they like to work better if they are good and warm. also the wrong valve train geometry can break them. not sure if this was the case in yours but it could be a possibility.

Ya I was gonna say that too, make sure your car is nice and warm before you push it. Look into lunati also for springs, they make great products.

Warm oil is key especially how long it takes for the oil to reach the top of the motor.... I use a moroso oil pan heater to help it warm up quicker and to aid in flow for the cooler mornings of winter. Only down side is you have to plug it in every night and unplug in the mornings. But the extra effort is worth it for me. Not that this will stop you from breaking springs but it for sure won't hurt anything. IMO I have read to many failure discussions with those springs. May want to try a different company.

Ive got 2k miles on my BTR springs no issues so far. Even though el paso is always hot like 90 degrees by 8am I still let my car idle at least 2min before I drive off on an initial start.

I talked to Brian Tooley a couple months ago and he has people with 50,000 miles on his .660 platinum springs.

Lethal has several different springs they will install for you. BTR is one of them I believe. I agree with all the others about letting the oil warm up before you beat on the car. I try and keep mine below 2500 RPM when it's cold, and I don't go WOT until it's pretty much up to operating temp @ 200+. I had to stop letting the car idle in the driveway to warm up. It takes too long in the winter and I feel sorry for my neighbors. Light driving will warm the car up too. I just take a route in the morning where I know I won't have to punch it to get out in traffic.

edit

My mistake... I was thinking Lethal in Louisiana. You've got good suggestions for springs here. Pick one and you'll be fine.

I have Brian Tooley Racing springs on mine...I always make sure my coolant is at 190 before I go over 2500 RPMs.
