MSD BAP killing battery?
as titles says, possible? its wired and as far as i know set correctly. i do see it blinking when the car is off... any way to set this so that it doesnt (if it is) drain the battery? battery dies when the car is sitting a few weeks. only other thing i can see thats on is my aeroforce gauge blinking.

My MSD does the same thing. That is how it works when used in the Camaro.
I put a battery charger on the car if I know it will not be driven for a while. |

The BAP doing this is normal. MY car is fine for months without starting it. Your gauge is more likely the issue. gauges should power off completely. charge battery. remove negative battery cable. hook a test light or multimeter between the negative battery terminal and the disconnected cable. pull fuses until the light goes out or multimeter shows the draw drop out. that circuit is where the draw is.

My HP Tuners MPVI pro also has a green light when the obd2 is connected and key off. My car doesnt get driven often either, so if it sits for a few weeks, I try to unplug the obd2 cable and/or disconnect the neg battery terminal. If I dont, I have to charge the battery.
If its lit up, its not helping.

The way MSD's instructions are written assumes that the power to the FPCM is switched on/off with key. It is not. The FPCM has power all the time and is put to sleep by the BCM.
Sooooooo, you need the thinner orange wire from the MSD to go to a switched source in the fuse box. That will fully turn it off when the car is off. |

I shouldn't assume MSD is the same as my JMS. Sounds like AGP knows the MSD's!

It would be simple to put in a 30/40amp relay to trigger the power to the bap with a key on event. (Piece of cake and problem solved)
