I recently purchased the Zaino products and am wondering if I should use the claybar? My paint (at least to me) looks very good and clean. Has anyone skipped the claybar step and still had good results or should I just take the time and do it?

I also apply Zaino by hand only. Using the random-orbital wastes too much product.

What about scratches? You seriously never have to correct the paint for any type of scratch? Just add more Zaino?

The front corners of my Camaro are getting all scratched just from my black lab wagging his tail against the car. I don't know how you could avoid correcting the paint all together for 10 years. That's amazing.

Here's some good post of a Canauba vs Sealant http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-

This is a very true statement. Most synthetic LSP ( Last step protection ) Offer great durability but lack depth and color enhancement.

So many professional detailer's have been putting down a synthetic like zaino topped by a quality carnauba to obtain the best finish.

Gloss-it has the depth and clarity of the best carnauba and the durability & gloss of the best synthetic. But as professional detailer and product manufacture 90% percent of an awesome finish in in the polishing & prepping. The last step only enhances what lies beneath!

The gap in waxes, LSP's and other end step products is quickly closing in.

2008 HPE 650: Products applied gloss finish followed by our show car finish Concorso gloss. Both products go on and off with ease and no setup time. Checkout what others have to say about these products.

I would do it, there is all kinds of things on your car you can't see, that way you have a nice pristine surface to apply the Zaino to and your not jsut covering up rust particles or stuff like that.

Thanks! I've been pondering this for over an hour now. I probably could have made a lot of progress during that timespan, lol. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me. Hope my wife understands my obsession.

I used Zaino for the first time in November 09 when I received my new IOM 2SS. I got to drive it for about 2 weeks before the weather turned nasty here in Illinois and I stored it for the winter. I brought my garage temp. to around 75 with a small LP heater. I washed, clayed with the Zaino clay (first time I ever clayed a car and was amazed at how easy it was and what a HUGE difference it made in the first Z5 coat.), and did three Z5 coats in about 3 hours working pretty steady. Dry time was fast as I used the Zaino additive and mixed it correctly. I will never use anything else. The shine and depth is amazing compared to other off the counter brands I have used. Worth every penny. I will be researching as spring arrives what I need to do from a Zaino perspective when I bring my car out of storage.

Sounds good...With Spring around the corner,I might be contacting you, not that I'm unhappy with Zaino, I just love to experiment.
