Why I picked an Infiniti G37 over a Camaro

For some time I went back and forth about which car to purchase and in the end it came down to these factors when purchasing my 2009 Infiniti G37S

1) The interior is light years more impressive in the G than the Camaro
- high quality materials are used in the G; the surrounding "etched" metal is infinitely more rich than the plastics surrounding the Camaro cockpit - Chevy should be embarrassed with things like the plastic casing of the gear box.

2) It has more HP than the V6 Camaro and pretty much the same torque - now if you are talking the V8 - you win that one.

3) My cost was around $33K for a loaded-up G37S with navigation and rear camera - yes, it had a few miles on it but its tech features crush those found in any current Camaro.

4) Resale - at this moment, the Camaro is holding up nicely - the key phrase: at this moment. It has already begun to take a dive as more and more flood the market - have you noticed that most dealers have several on their lots now? By next year, the value will have dropped 30% or even more in the car - the Infiniti will drop 10%, if that.

5) The G37 is simply a more refined & classy car - the Camaro might be able to get to that level one day but until Chevy fixes huge mistakes like the non-raising passenger seat and the very poorly designed paddle shifters - it's stuck in the late 90's.

I could go on and on but at the end of the day, the G37 is better bang for the buck and a more refined ride that provides the same level of excitement as the Camaro - a much smarter buy.

Have at it.

That's what is so great about the country we live in. You have the option to get what you want. I do not know you but I am glad you were able to make the right decision for you. As for any comparisons between the G37 & the Camaro I will leave that to others if they so choose. For me, there is no comparison. I'm not bashing the G37 at all, but for me I wouldn't ever think to compare them. The Camaro is a classic, iconic piece of American muscle, period. An Infiniti is basically a zooted up Nissan. Sorry, but I can't even see where this is worthy of much more thought. Not trying to be a jerk here at all. That's just how I see it.

You can pay less than $33k for a very low mileage preowned all optioned out 2SS. I'm talking GFX & everything. I did. To each his own

It's okay. Some people just feel the need to justify themselves when they realize they made a mistake

Yeah, good for you, the OP. Yay. Your special, but then again so are, nevermind, I'll stay pc.
Now, go away. I'm sure there is some Infiniti forum needing your assistance.

NO, the Rev limiter is not set to 118MPH... and YES, driving in this manner does affect MPG...

Opinions are like assholes.....

G37 was 33k for a fully loaded v6? Ouch. Pricey. I'm sorry but i have to disagree with you on almost everything. Ive looked a G37's before because my friend wanted one and i ended up leaving the lot going "eh". The interior of the Camaro looks futuristic and WAY better looking then most new vehicles out there right now. I don't know how the passenger seat "problem" and the "poorly designed paddle shifters" make less of a "classy" car. The G37 looks like vomit next to a Camaro man, I don't know were your head went on that one.

The G37 is a V6 with a stock turbo on it i believe so common since would say that it should have more HP then the V6 Camaro. Talking about resale? You act like the G37 JUST came out also..it didn't. I'm pretty sure that they went down quite a bit over the years. The Camaro will never get old, after the hype from the movies and the hype of the Camaro actually coming back, this thing will remain a classic.
