i've crossed over to the dark side...
well ladies/gents... as my birthday present to myself a week and few days ago...
i said goodbye to #3081, my much loved (and heavily driven) 2010 2SS RS M6 in Victory Red with White Stripes... hello dark side... 2011 GT500 w/ Track Pack & NAV system in Race Red with White Track Pack Stripes (kinda like that combo...) ---- in the end, with 22k miles on the car and an offer of 33,100 on the table for something i paid 35,835 a year ago only owing 34,400 at the time of trade in... it was a no brainer. i do miss "scarlet" but i hope in time that she'll end up in a loving owners hands, hopefully as much as my own were. see ya guys in my rear view! but the sales manager told me flat out he didn't care if he lost money on my car, he wanted a story to tell... i love the 2010, it was/is an amazing car especially for year one back in production... but i have to say that all aspects of the camaro i find better in the GT500; though that's the way it should be, it's a much more expensive car. i'd say the biggest differences are (to me, keep in mind: imo): -electric steering (hydraulic in the camaro) -full nav system (i like onstar but there are alot more options available in the mustangs unit) -volume of the car (much smaller footprint if anything but in just feel) -auto dual climate control -interior refinement (to be expected though, the stangs how many years in continual production?) -hp (obviously) -short throw shifter -ms sync -window height (i can put my arm out the window more relaxed then previous) that being said though, the things i miss the most: -halo's (always loved those) -telescoping steering wheel (would have been nice to move it up an inch or two) -dic (no way to display digitally the speed on the mustang) |

You have now lost all of your cool points. You sir have been put into the same category as the chest haired Superman:
Coincidentally... there's a forum member named Supermans that also traded in for a Mustang. Boo on you guys!

But why did you go into the Ford dealer in the 1st place? I stay away from car lots unless I am ready to buy a car.

You took a $1,300 hit on your Camaro to trade for a Mustang and you called it a "no brainer"? I think that comment says it all. I'm not slamming the Mustang. I LOVE ALL muscle cars, hence my name. Just questioning your financial decision.

i'm a domestic geared gear head, i figure if there's a domestic counter part to a foreign car; the money should be spent here. my gf currently drives a toyota yaris... they didn't have a fiesta on the lot but they did that the shelby, the manager mentioned it and 2 weeks later the rest was history. --- funny thing though, while we were at the ford dealership; i happened to spot a giant poster of one of my works that came out of the project: |

Flip flopper (one who buys the next best thing). You'll be in a showroom buying a Camaro Z28 in about a year.
At least you didn't buy a Mustang GT. |

but i will tell you, i'll find someone willing to pay exactly what i did on the shelby in about a year and yes; there's a good chance i'll be sitting myself into a z28. being that these cars are company cars, keeping them long term isn't in my best interest. if i could lease them for 2 years, i would. |

He went in there looking at Fiestas with no intention on buying a GT500. Got talked into buying a GT500 because salesmen are experts on playing our our emotions and getting us to buy when we had no intention of doing so. Just saying.....
