Heads and Cam?
I am currently in the market for a new cam due to a lifter failing and cutting a nice little groove in my current cam. I currently have a Vengence Racing Cam (231/243 .617/.624 115+3). I figured while the heads are off there is no better time to upgrade those as well. I have the following mods, LT, HF cats, Axleback, Varram, UD Pulley, ported TB, ported Intake, flowmatched injectors, 3.91 gears, and dyno tune. The car made 465hp and was very streetable with minimal bucking below 1500 rpms. It is my daily driver with a few trips to the track a year. Im looking to make at least the same amount of power but preferably more as long as im not losing power under the curve. I have been looking at TSP's PRC 250cc and 255cc heads with their 231/236 and 235/239 cams. Any one have any experience with any combination of this setup? If you have any reccomendations I am all ears. Please keep in mind I am looking to stay as close to 3 grand as possible on the heads and cam package. I will be doing all the work myself so that is 3 grand for parts.
Thanks for any input |

I have the 231 /243 cam with ported heads and the car was awesome. Then I supercharged it, and its even better. I have never dynoed my car so I have no clue what power level I'm at, but even before the super charger I could roast the tires from a roll.

I'd go TFS, sell your old cam and get a new one designed to suit these heads. Sell your old heads and easily get 500 for them.
To spec out a cam I'd call Brian Tooley Racing to spec one out, if anyone knows TFS it's him. You won't regret it. These heads have a 12* head and will allow more Ptv clearance and allow for higher compression (free TQ n HP), I don't think that there is an off the shelf cam for these.

I am very very happy with my AI ported stock heads...I haven't seen the taillights of any other stock bottom end N/A 5th gens yet ...I haven't put any numbers up on here in a while, but my cam is MILD compared to a lot of other cars, excellent driveability (almost like stock) and fantastic power.

Can't go wrong with WCCH, AI, Brian Tooley, TEA, LPE. IMHO.

If you really want to spend $3,000 for 20-30 horsepower I'd suggest some PRC medium bore LS7 heads so you can use LS7 rockers and intake to gain the most power. You'd be able to sell your LS3 stuff as a package to someone with an Ls2 (GTO owner).
I would rather spend $500 on a new cam and the remaining $2,500 on a nitrous outlet plate system, dedicated fuel system, and required electronics to add 200 horsepower! |

Thanks for the suggestion about the LS7 heads. I won't be looking into the nitrous though, it doesn't interest me. Thanks though.

231/236
I am in interest of the TS 231/236 cam. Aiming for 460 rwhp. In desire of a cam with radicle idle, with great hp/tq gain....what lsa would be best? 111, 112, or 113 to meet these performance characteristics in a ls3 (6M).

111 will be choppier the 113 will be a lil less.
