Adding Suede Steering Wheel and Gear Shift Knob

I'm interested in adding the Suede Steering Wheel and Gear Shift Knob. My ZL1 is lacking these two options, and I think my car would look great with it. Has anyone tried adding them after receiving? Should I just call the dealer and order them? What's the normal cost for adding them including labor costs? Give me a ballpark if you have already done this!

Thanks in Advance guys!

I added both, ordered the Suede set and kept the leather set. 50 bucks at the dealer to install.

Wow, $50 sounds like a great price to install. Where did you order your set?

$50 would be just the labor, the parts run about $300 if you can get a good price from GM.

Thanks Kevin. Do you have part numbers I can give my Chevy guy? Much appreciated. I'm looking for the steering wheel, gear shift knob & the gear shift boot to all be in suede.

Last activity in this thread was a year before the Z28 came out. Likely a 1LE or ZL1 wheel. All 3 are flat bottom for road racing.

The wheels are all the same part, what makes them different is the trim, one is for ZL1, a Z/28 and an SS, but GM sales them in 3 part #.

The Suede wheel is not an upgrade. It is very hard to keep clean and tends to get matted and gross looking without constant care. I paid extra for the privilege, but wish I had not.

To top it off, when you look at the pricing to buy the pars from GM, the Suede wheel actually costs less than the Leather one!
