Lost... Tape over Chevy badge?!?!?
Hurley and Said are riding in a Trailblazer. When they're getting "pulled over" by Ana Lucia, you can clearly see that they just put tape over the front badge. Looks ghetto even. There's no reason the characters would do this so it must've been a GM/ABC thing. WTF?!?!?

It probably has something to do with trademark laws and whatnot.
A lot of TV shows debadge the cars or keep the camera view just above the badges.

Yea but this was completely obvious. You could see the outline of the bow tie beneath the tape even.

But how can that keep the car from being recognized. Any person who drives on American streets can probably recognize about 75% of the cars sold in North America.
It probably has to do with the fact that the car companies can Trade Mark their symbols, but not the actual design of the car. It shouldn't be this way...

they didn't pay to have the vehicle on set so they cover all symbols that are registered trademarks

so there's gaff tape on the trailblazer's bowtie... big deal. there was another shot where it looked like a plain chrome bar (leaving the gas station). it's a very common thing in tv/movies.
it is interesting that LOST only does it on GM vehicles, though. you clearly see kate's volvo badge & jack's "F O R D" on the back of the bronco. also in australia, when the marshal was chasing kate in the suburban, they de-badged it, too

i find it dumb to hide the logos. if gm can sue them, for advertising without permission. then gm has a few million people to sue
