Yea, T5HO are the only way to go if you are putting in new lights. They cost a bit more up front but you can light a 2 car garage with a 2ft 2 bulb system. Tag went a little overboard. I can see you wiring in some pull switches so you dont have all the moths in the neighborhood in your garage.

Yup. Most HDs keep them in stock now. They should have a couple different systems with different lengths.

These are the ones I went with from Home Depot

WELL worth it.

and yeah....kind of overboard...

But I can now look at my car from under or over and pretty much ANY direction and still see with those lights on... It's unreal what the right lighting can do.

Good deal. I just have a regular florescent light in the middle. With the Tahoe parked on one side I can't see in my toolbox at night.
Looks like it's going to take a little wire too.

Yeah. I tossed in a little wire, wired it all in line, and mounted them up into the studs. I wish I had some pull switches for them. Don't need ALL of them on at once if I'm working on one side.

But it is funny to see all the people walk by and stop.....stare....look around....and then finally move back on...

Doug imo you cant go overboard with garage lighting!!!!!!! Especially if you are doing paint correction work or just working below the hood of the car.

I finally had enough and had to just stop and move on to something else. That damn floor... I really don't want to have to acid wash and mess with it. Ugh...

Totally agree! I hate shadows when working on my car. I want light from all directions. Shadows are a thing of the past now...lol

I have two of them. The other one is rigged to the water softener hook ups...lol Really, I need to get a good quality commercial type ceiling fan and install it up there. It gets HOT in the garage and I need a way to quickly air it out.

Have you seen those big metal bladed fans? That would be awesome. I think they come in smaller sizes than 40ft. lol

Heck yeah!

Back when we lived in Helotes, we rebuilt a house that was built back in....sheesh....the 30's? The main structure was fine, but we rebuilt the floors, electric, water, bathrooms, etc etc etc.

In the original living room wall was a 6 to 8 foot fan with working metal slats that would open as the fan would turn on. The entire house would air out in a matter of 20 seconds. It.....was......coool!!! But the only problem is obviously we live in HOT Texas. So the only time it's good is in the winter when trying to cool off the house or when something burns in the house and we need to air it out.
