Y did u upgrade?

Threads r here all the time about upgrading (myself included)... But Im curious what made u upgrade? I upgraded for a few reasons.. I was and still am very happy w my v6, She has a lot of power not to mention a real head turner. Won top 10 in peoples choice in her very first car show but....I was raised around fast cars and car shows so its second nature to have and want the best. I thought the v6 was more practical but I soon realized that I really wanted a v8. After a few shows w my car, I just knew I would nvr b completely happy wo a v8...so Im picking up my ss girl tomorrow. I also had a great opportunity to upgrade at a awesome price and my original loan absorbed..cant say no to that.

So y did u upgrade?

I simply didn't like my previous car after living with it a year and the miserable way the manufacturer, and dealer's service, handled some very minor complaints (documented in TSB's yet).

The Camaro fit most of my requirements and the ones it didn't fit were justified with the "wow factor"

After 3 transmissions replacements on the 4th one they were trying to make me pay for it while it was still under warranty. My GM regional rep sent out an email to all the dealers in my area telling them to not work on my car. So they pushed me in a corner was about to go buy a mustang but I love the camaro way to much. This time around I wont worry so much about warranty considering it didnt help me much.

I didn't "upgrade" and won't. $10,000 for an additional 100 (+ or -) hp is nuts. 312 is plenty unless you are racing. Not to mention insurance increase and gas increase.

Mustang trannys aren't any better. I had 4 Mustangs since 99, and 3 of them had bad trannys. One an auto and 2 were manual. (I NEVER abused them, either)

I didn't, I started with a 2SS/RS. We've always had V8 cars just not usually with all the bells and whistles like the new camaros have.

Actually it's NOT $10,000

MSRP 2SS = $34,420
MSRP 2LT = $27,350

MSRP 1SS = $31,070
MSRP 1LT = $24,005

Forget the LS... let's keep apples to apples...

So it's average of $7070 difference for 114 hp and 147 ft-lbs of torque is a GREAT investment. Not to mention better gearing, brakes, suspension...

SS - 426hp/420tq
LLT - 312hp/273tq :( 273!!

No aftermarket "mods" can compete with that... People just don't see the light. It's not kool-aid or SS attitude... it's dollars and sense...

What people really need to do is if they feel they are "settling" for the 6... just dont buy one. If you couldn't care less... great, get the 6 but if your not going to be happy with it... save some cash and just get the SS to start with...

Depends on where you are. Phoenix dealers are obscene

Yeah but Ford puts out TSB's for there problems and attempt or achieve in finding a resolution GM on the other hand says " Im sorry your having issues with your car have you put in a ticket with customer service?"

But this thread isnt about that. I upgraded because of the issues and the wide variety of aftermarket options for power on the L99/LS3

I upgraded for more power and for a different color. The main reason is I could afford it after getting a raise in salary.

Little harsh but i do agree to some extent ever since i got the ss I feel like GM put more thought and heart into it. A lot more solid car than my LS was
