We had to press pause on it to wrap up a few other items. Hitting play again this week and going to start making the changes that we figured out from the last time it was on the Dyno.

Not exactly, just wait and see!

This is just me, but I would think they are trying to work the numbers to the effect of keeping the same volume of air entering the intake but at a lower temp. Thus it would not require a tune.

Now if they were to increase the volume of air into the engine then I would guess it would require a tune.

I could be way off, but that's how my mind is thinking today.

I certainly hope CAI is developing the most aggressive intake they can. I've waited this long because I want the temperature reflecting properties of their intakes in addition to vast amounts of air flow. If not, this is a bust. Car has already been tuned twice, so no concern.

Just an FYI since I told you all we would keep you in the loop. We are having a ZL1 brought to us tonight (compliments of the wonderful Becky from Rodgers Chevrolet). We will be working on the prototype more this week, and I will update accordingly.

I think you miss the point. Such as this isn't exactly an update.

Exactly. This is not a race for us, our customers know that we will have the best ZL1 intake available. Those high expectations means we want to give you a product we can stand behind 100%, and are not concerned with being the 1st across the finish line. Our development process typically takes longer than others due to the simple fact that everything we do is custom. We don't use standard couplers and elbows, we have them made to exact specs which requires tooling and molds to be made, then get a prototype, then test it, then tweak it and start over again. Same with our filters and intake tubes....long story short it takes time.

This thread is not the only interaction we have with customers interested in the ZL1 intake system. Many people we have been talking to are aware that we have pressed the pause button on the ZL1 development for the last month so that we could wrap up other projects. This is an update to let them know that things are again in motion and moving forward. Some people appreciate more information than others, so we are trying to keep people as informed as possible as to the progress.

Yeah, I was being an asshole. I apologize. I would love to have one of these as soon as they are available if they don't require a tune. Again, I apologize, I was being an ass.

No problem Jimmy5 thanks, hopefully we can get it all finished up soon, and yes the goal is to definitely have it perform without needing a tune.
