Transmission failed!

Well it didnt totally fail but it willl not go in 1st gear. 1st gear position is locked out. All other gear postions are fine. V6 manual. Anyone familiar with this issue.
Its going in the shop Tue morn. Still under warranty. I hear other people complain that these foreign Aisin trans. are crap and don't hold up. Whats up with that? Why would GM sacrifice these cars with a junk trans. my car has just over 8k mi and has been perfect until now. Its a 2011.

Sorry to hear about the tranny and hope GM does something about. Ford, Gm, Land rover all use Asian tranny's because it's cheaper. It sucks.

sounds like the pressure plate bolts went. Some people are having this issue, but most are only having the 2nd gear grind/bind issue.

My car, when I am about 6500 rpm and need to shift to 5th gear , it doesn't go in , when I am cruising in the city I don't have that problem , it does go in from 4th to 5th.

All of the other gears are fine. Just wont go in first. Do you know any links on the net regarding this.

Years ago I had a 4-speed get stuck in gear. I opened up the case (it had an access panel on top) and popped it out of gear with a screwdriver, and it's worked fine ever since. Maybe you'll get lucky when you get it apart.

My SS locked into neutral and it turned out to be the 1-2 synchros were broke. I have a thread on it in this section.

Transmission Failed ...Update

Took it into the shop today. 1st gear was still locked out when he drove from the checkout line to the service bay...then...it became unstuck by itself! He took off the console and all was fine, checked for error codes...non found. Checked TSB's and non found in my vin# build. Fluid was fine. They contacted GM and they had no notice of this issue but GM told them to change the fluid anyway just to be sure. Sched. to go back next week so they can change the fluid because they didnt have it in stock. Drove it home and it performed flawlessly.
Bottom line...Reason unkown. Back in love with my Camaro.

I wouldn't be jumping for joy just yet. Problems don't just fix themselves.
