It appears the coil has collapsed. All the coils in the picture are dead, touching each other. Can you get a few more pics so I can see if ALL the coils are touching?

That pic was the passenger. These are the rear and driver side. Seems the passenger is the worst and the rear look ok

Rears look good. Fronts are close to or are coil bound. Can you go out to your car and see how many front coils have enough space between then to get your finger tip in?

Haha that won't happen. Maybe a piece of paper but not a finger. They all sit on each other except that bottom coil on th drivers side which is still a very seal gap

Then the pictures are a good representation. Do you have ride height measurements from the date they were installed and how it suys today?

I don't, I could measure now but don't know what good it would do because I have nothing to compare too

Good god Steve, those coils have to be under warranty. You should get your money back at least. The front springs looked to have failed completely. Mine are from the same company, and I love them, BUT they better not do that one day. If they do, I'm not going to be a happy camper, I'll tell you that.

We see quite a few collapsed cold wound coils on the GTO. It is our opinion that the large looping winds found on large cars like the GTO are not a good match to a cold wound coil. Pedders Camaro Lowering coils are hot wound for durability. Our challenge is that hot winding cost almost twice as much as cold winding.
Our motorsport / coil over coils are cold wound. The coil winds are tighter and the steel a special blend they do not fatigue like a cold wound lowering coil. |
