Mod Advice

Okay so I've had my SS (L99 A6) for a month now and I didn't really know much about cars except that I loved Camaros. I've been reading threads and googling about parts.

At first I was going for appearance mods first over performance mods but I decided I prefer some extra power and muscle sound first. I have decided on the following:
1. Kooks Headers
2. Solo exhaust w/ J pipes. (not sure the difference between the axle back and the Mach XL)
3. A cold air intake

Anybody think of anything else I should mod first/include with these

4. Lingenfelter Maggy blower package.

...you forgot number 4!

Jk- but seriously not You have your order in good shape for sound. However, I would put the CAI first. I recommend Cold Air Inductions, Inc's CAI. You'll even get a pretty good noise difference in the rear with just this.

I would get a catch can on there. The sooner the better.

What does a catch can do for performance that it's such a must have?

You are definitely on track with what you have listed, a tune will add to the performance. You can search the Catch Can here and C5 then make you own decision. Will not add to performance but, will help protect the internal engine.

Catch cans are not about adding performance, they are about protecting your investment. A good catch can keeps your engine performing at its best over the long haul.

The "Catch Can" Explained!

VMax CNC Ported Throttle Body. Noticeable difference. HP, torque, and better throttle response. Worth it IMO.

Great idea, believe me when I say, I have not liked the way a car sounded more than mine for a DD.

I have LT 1 7/8" headers, HF cats, stock resonators, and SOLO axleback with J pipes.

Headers make the car loud and mean
HF cats flow just as good as straight pipes BUT they cut down on raspiness and that bad smell people talk about when they dont have cats.
Stock resonators keep the car from being way too loud in the cabin.
SOLO axleback keeps the drone out with the j-pipes.

All in all, I hear a slight rumble in the car under 2k rpm, so its not too loud to have a conversation with the passenger or for long cruises. Over 2k it sounds great, and screams at WOT, everyone can hear me haha.

Standing behind it with a cold start will make you jump a little. Very little rasp and only above like 4k rpm.

I also have the Cold Air Inductions, Inc CAI, and love it great power and sound

After all of this, you should get a good dyno tune, makes the trans amazing

You will love it! this is a not so great dyno video showing the sound:

Damn! That sounds awesome! I'm on my way to a similar setup. Right now I only have a K&N CAI and VMAX TB. I'm planning on getting the Solo Performance Axel Back with J pipes next. What are you running for HP/Torque? Any other vids of that beast?

1. CAI Cold Air Intake
2. Stainless Power 1 7/8 Headers with an X pipe( im not sure on Kooks quality but SP headers are made by Stainless Works and are way cheaper. You could probably pay for all of your other mods with the money saved $1400 vs $800)
3. Ported Throttle Body
4. Elite Catch Can

Alright sounds good, yeah I was looking at any 1 7/8 Headers. If the brand of headers doesn't matter too much than I should go the cheaper route.

Stainless Power is a very good set of headers for the money.

I would also order it from Apex Chase.lol

You could easily get those 4 items I listed for $1400 depending on high flow cats or offroad pipes with the headers.
