Rail car schedule

Does anyone know if the rail cars are on a schedule (ie- pick up cars once a week, twice a month, twice a week, etc?)

One guys car was picked up the same day my car was built, so I just missed that railcar. His car was built like 6 days prior to shipping- so I'm wondering if there is a queue for cars waiting to be picked up- and what the railcar schedule looks like as far as frequency, etc.

Feedback appreciated.

I just checked with gm and they told me the car is in a quality inspection. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long might be a line waiting to be inspected.it's only been 6 days since build date. Technically only 4 working days. I believe they are waiting to have enough cars going to the same region.

It's be interesting to see if ours ship the same date. If so- it's quite possible they're waiting to get enough in queue to haul to the same region.
I know mine goes on a rail from Oshawa down to OK. Then loaded onto a truck from OK to my dealer in north Dallas....

Patiently waiting is difficult when I'm out a car! lol

This might interest you in regards to rail transport.

I've read that. I've seen images of the plant and the lots. Didn't see anything but concrete. It's a huge lot with cars parked bumper to bumper.

I read that and now I have less hope than ever for getting my new 2012 2SS/RS Vert while there is still vert weather. I'm at 3000, and I've read elsewhere there's a new problem that's cropped up, though no specifics on what that is. I just went through a IO seat contraint that finally got resolved. Now this!

What was your original build date?

And what is an IO seat constraint?

Just got off the phone with GM- they were no help. Apparently I need to speak to the person assigned to my case. The person I WAS able to get a hold of offered to call my dealer- but I said I'm capable of doing that.

My salesman said he'd follow up Thursday with me, so I'll wait until then. I don't want to seem too antsy about it.

I don't have a build date yet. I'm at status 3000 with no Target Production Week (TPW) yet, and I've been that way since 8-26.

The Inferno Orange (IO) seats were not available (constrained) when I first put in the order on 8-11 but that constraint was lifted on 8-26. I don't know what's going to happen from here. I'm trying to be patient but I really would like to see my status code progress more quickly. The story about the rail delay was a bummer but who knows, I could get lucky.

I've seen a couple cars move from 3800 to 4200 (shipped) within a couple days. Others have been waiting a month... not sure what the hold up is- hopefully tomorrow my salesman and I can have a long conversation and he can give me some answers to our concerns.

As for your status progress- from 3000 to 3300- mine took 2 days. The 26th was a Friday and nothing happens over the weekend from what I hear.

If you don't get to 3300 by the end of this week, then maybe be slightly concerned- but don't be too surprised. I'd rather be waiting for the car to get a TPW than know my car is on the ground waiting to be railed. :(

I know. I'm learning too. I'm a new member and the terms some people use don't make sense to me a lot of times.
