Unexpected benefit of Solo Hi Flow cats
The shifting is better now, not the shifter, its the feel of the car when you engage the clutch after shifting. It used to have a jolting engine brake effect on engagement before, especially 1st to 2nd about 80% of the time. It now engages smooth as glass in every gear without trying to find a sweet spot in rpm's.
Anyone else experience this?

I know very well that "engine brake" feel... My car is getting an overhaul at the moment... including going cat less... so I would love for this to be an added bonus.

I shifted better too. I think it is because you can hear the engine better and you get a better feel for timing your shifting properly. I have a different exhaust though. With the stock exhaust it was too quiet.

I don't think its me, its the car. It doesn't matter what rpm I shift at anymore, you let off the clutch now and barely feel it engage.

I don't see how either, maybe coincidence, but I've got 17,000 miles on my car and it has always done that until the cat swap. Does your car jolt or otherwise engage rough in the first few gears?

I believe it has something to do with the air/ fuel ratio

No, I haven't noticed; I'm still trying to find the sweet(est) spot.
I 'thought' I got a little better feeling after installing the ADM Race Scoop, though. I've modified my shifting to get through the gears quicker, while trying to keep it under 2K RPM, but I'm still getting 2-3 notchy-ness. Better, but I'm still trying to find 'Best' |

I've had mine on and off a couple of times and after 24k miles I've noticed no difference as far as shifting.
