I've said it before but these pictures solidify it - I like the new SS front better than the original concept. The hood bulge? Perfect.

I'm mixed about the non-red calipers. On one hand, red painted calipers would look cool, but they also scream "modified racer" and in California, that is enough to get you pulled over.

Actually, photography is one of my other hobbies besides cars. You look at these photos and think they look like computer generated renderings. I look at them and think they did a piss-poor job in controlling the intensity of the lighting because of the hot spots that reflect off the car (especially in the rear overhead view).

The photos were likely taken in a similar studio as this one of the concept and a '69. Basically, cars are in what looks like a giant light box with multiple lighting sources to bring out highlights (fenders, lines) and fill shadow areas (tires, grilles).

Ehhh, but enough about the photos themselves....just bask in the glory of the rebirth of an American icon.

Sorry man they are just some very high quality renders.

Whoever did it knows there tool well. They used shader materials very well.

There are tons of things like the glass, the reflection shader used on the paint, the license plate and stamped numbers, the tag on the plates, the angle of one of the exhaust outlets etc.

Man she looks good. I wish they would do this with all the color options; and that front fascia look killer…

Um, no, sorry but you are wrong. Some of the photos were tagged with additional EXIF data (use IExif to view it - http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/).

Nobody bothers to fake the EXIF data, especially the camera info. If these were just computer generated renderings then they would have no camera data at all. They were taken and post-processed by FPI Studios in Auburn Hills, MI.

Here's a link to their website and you can see the light box style studio they have available. http://www.frenakphoto.com/index.htm

I don't think people realize what goes into making magazine quality pictures, they are never true images of what you would see in real life. Although it was mentioned there were some areas of concern to professional or hobby photographers. This is a touched up image of the real preproduction SS Camaro. No confusion now, i hope.

My apologies. I'll try not to do that again.

How about those non-RS taillights? Does anyone see the slight difference in color between these and the red RS ones?

to get a true color difference you might need to post the silver RS that they released pics of on unveil day... but yes i see the slight difference you're talking about.
