It felt more like a really big car, more like a Dodge Charger to me than a "sporty" sedan.

I hope even though the Camaro is a big car, that it is a little better in the handling department than the G8.
You are the first person I've heard say that about the G8. I actually think they handle really well for how large the car is. Maybe some for the pedders guys could elaborate on the handling of the car compared to others. I've definitely had zero issues with how ours handles.

Overall Performance would be even I'd say.
Handling in Favor of the Z car
Drag Racing in Favor of the SS
Looks = Subjective. I think both cars look good in thier own way.
Price in Favor of the SS.
Modify ability in favor of the SS, this motor is already out on several production cars so all the kinks are worked out and go fast goodies are already readily available.

So SS wins overall in my opinion strictly b/c of the bang per buck feature. Based on what I've read GM is do a really good job on quality control so I'm hoping the SS will have good build quality, esp on interior.

Thing is, these cars weigh a lot and are also rather large, Depending on stock spring rates and shock rebound they might also have quite a bit of body roll.
The Japanese manufacturers hold handling in higher regards than most american manufacturers until recently with cars from GM like the solstice and the cobalt SS. Hell my Mazdaspeed3 outhandles most rwd cars and has the torque to pull out of a corner fairly quickly. I'm hoping that the SS will handle at least above average b/c the power is definitely there.

I'll have to say after driving a nissan for the last 5 years (waiting on the camaro) the engine has been great. I'ts a 3.5L .... with that being said I'd still rather have a camaro any day. Heck even my Datsun 260z has a small block chevy engine .. ehehhehe

In my occupation...i rent ALOT of cars...i drive anything from ford mustangs all the way down to toyota yaris

I do not like the nissans...they do not appeal to me...they are very generic and all look the same

The only japanese maker i like is toyota...and thats not alot of love either

the BEST car i have rented is a chevy impala...the new one...it is sweet...the sound system is awesome...great leather interior...beautiful dash...ride is comfortable...decent power.

I do not like nissan..and the 350Z were big boats...i do not think that the 370 will be much better. ...we shall see if nissan can do something with thier nismo team

No contest. Camaro hands down. Has Nissan released a Nurburgring time for the 370?
