LS3 Octane Mistake
I just traded my 2LT RS for the 6.2 LS3. I did not know about the 93 octane til now. I have only used half a tank during the first fill up ever ( 80 miles on the car). My question is: When I fill up next time with 93, will the computer recognize the 93, and give the performance back? The reason I ask, is because I read about fuse pulls in the L99?

Yes, the ECM will adjust. It seems the L99 program is slower to correct than the LS3 program.

I would think twice before using those in one of these cars... Especially airplane fuel.. Most AVGAS contains Lead. A no no with today's engines...

No 91 octane at your stations? I've put 91 before on my trip to Phoenix.

Back last year when the price of gas went up over $5.00 a gallon all they were selling here was 87 Octane... I just fear it may happen again. But I have the V6 so I shouldn;t have any trouble.

You can run the lower octane, provided you just drive the car....you will run into problems at WOT with pinging and timing retard. Even with 87 you probably could never break the car beating on it, but the ECM will take away all your power.

some places it is hard to get anything but 87...and then some people are not thinking about that it only costs a few dollars more to fill up with the good stuff..
right now it costs $2.57 a gallon for regular, and $2.77 for premimum. A big .20 cents a gallon more. If your Camaro is on Empty the most you will put in is around 17 gallons, so .20 X 17= $3.40 a tankful. Just skip buying a burger and fries at Mc Donalds and you have enough to pay for it.
