Is it expensive to add a USB port to an LS

I wouldn't mind adding one, I use the Aux right now but if I could I would like the song info and such from my iTunes when playing music. Has anyone done this before?

I'm pretty sure you first have to add the MyLink or similar dash entertainment center. Don't think a USB port could interface with the stock radio. (Speaking from the position of a 2LS owner who's car is not equipped with the above, I'm assuming none of these models come with them stock)

What you said makes sense and no they don't. I guess you need the mylink screen for the USB. I also assume all of the SS Models don't have the USB either prior to the mylink being in production?

Yes, you can add the USB to the standard radio.... no you do not need MyLink Screen for it.... you have to take it to the dealer to get the software updated once you install it..

As for expensive... I believe it's like $100 for the parts... but don't quote me on that price...

2014 non My Link radios will not accept the PDIM that adds USB and streaming Bluetooth audio. GM changed the wiring in the Camaro in late 2013 that makes the current PDIM unusable in a 2014 LS.

usb

In my opinion the aux is better then the usb. It takes to much time trying to index and search your ipod if you have a bunch of music. Don't waste your time or money on the usb.

The sound quality is night and day. The Usb sounds much better. If you update to that latest firmware there is little to no indexing

I hear ya about the song storage, could be a pain in the neck when I can just use my phone. Voice control for choosing songs would be nice and not having to use my lighter adapter to charge my phone as well. I'll never get why Chevy left out some things on the LS models. Every new car almost has touch screen and USB standard now.

I have around 5,000 songs on my iPhone and have no indexing issues. Plays as soon as I plug in my iPhone via USB. Search feature works right away as well.
