Dumb question (18" rims on SS)

Hey guys,

I'm about to pick up a set of replica C6 Z06 18x9.5 rims for my 2011 Camaro SS and I have a dumb question. I realize the offset is 40mm in the rear and 35mm in the front, but would I be able to buy replica Z06 18" rims with a 40mm offset for the front? I can't imagine that 5mm is even visable, is it? Will this even work? Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

What's your question? Are you looking to put a set of replicas in the front?

Yup. Will the same (rear) replicas work on the front?

I would think so. Get the rears then try them on the front. That way you'll know for sure.

I'm guessing you'll have to get rid of the front brake roller skates (harmonic dampeners) before any 18" wheel will fit. My 18" Welds would not fit with the roller skates.

I have 18x9.5 ZR1 replicas front and back.

Front you will need 5mm spacer (maybe 4mm I have one to try), and you will need to shave part of the spindle (if that is the right word). You need to swap brake pads or cut off the wheels:

I put tape there to see if if the tire rubs, you can see the shaved metal:

Front tire size probably makes a difference too:
