Help with 2013 1LE Deal
Hello all! Looking to join the ranks with the purchase of a 2013 1LE. I'm new to buying a car from a dealer so hoping to have some insight with those savvy with dealer pricing. I am looking at a new 2013 1LE with 2SS package and sunroof. MSRP on the car is $43680 and with the $1,500 rebate, they are firm on a price of $39,000. Does this seem reasonable on a 2013?

Is it a 2SS with RS package? I paid 37500 for a 2SS non RS with Nav and no NPP. If it has the RS that would be about right. A lot of the times you can't get them down any more on cost of vehicle but you may be able to sweeten the pot with free services or deep discounts for parts and accessories.
Here is the best way to make sure they are honest with you on price. You write down a number on a piece of paper. Sit down with your salesman and slide the piece of paper to him. You tell him you are a buyer this very minute at this price. If they can meet it they will if not they will get as close to humanly possible. A salesman simply wants to hear the words "I am a buyer right now!" |

Sorry to be vague. Car has the 2SS option, sunroof, RS and the exhaust option.
I've been negotiating with this dealer and have 2 trade ins that I feel he's given me a fair price on. Given that it's a fair amount of money, wanted to insure it was a good deal before pulling the trigger. Appreciate it guys |

That sounds like a good price to me. I just walked in, said "I want this car" and two months later, I signed for whatever MSRP was minus the $1000 promotion. I'm 2SS, 1LE, NPP, RS, no nav or sunroof. Came in around $43k. I've become so exhausted with haggling over a couple grand, I just didn't bother asking. I think they appreciate it because I'm treated like a king whenever I show up for anything. In a room full of people waiting for repair, Enterprise rent-a-car shows up and calls some names for people. At the same time, my sales person pulls up in a car and tosses me the keys, "we'll call you when it's finished, have a nice day". Do unto others I guess.

Keep in mind that if you are over 6' tall and plan on getting in the car with a helmet on the sunroof might be a problem. Might want to bring a helmet to the dealership and try it on in the car.

Good thinking. I'm just at 6 feet so I'll take one with me on my next trip up.

These should give something to go on for comparison purposes. These are 1SS but you can deduct what you will from this.

Seems like a pretty decent deal. You also have to factor in what they are giving you on your trade-ins. If you're getting what you want out of the cars you are trading in, I would say go for it.

According to them, they are offering me more than they think they can get for the 2 cars. Each has a bad mark on CarFax so I assumed that was why they didn't want to deal any lower on the 1LE. From what I am gathering from you guys though, the deal on the 1LE is pretty good regardless of the trade offer.

mine is a 2013 2SS/RS I got for $37,600 with a few dealer installed items (tint, trunk mat, a couple other things I cant remember). $39,000 is a good deal to get the sunroof and upgraded exhaust.

There's a few other 1LE's near cincinnati. I just did a little search on google and came up with these:

OK..
Depends on the VIN and how long this car has been sitting on the lot. With some dealers paying attention to production numbers believe the 2013 1LE a "hot car" and some dealers will not negotiate. This 1LE, if has been on the lot longer than 6 months...is brand new DEAD STOCK.. and I always wondered why dealers held onto cars as this.. So, my question to you...how hard will you educate yourself and go back and say "yo bitch, what gives with you not budging with this dead stock car yo!" I bought a 13 2SS 1LE in July. Sticker was 43,970..$3750 in rebates and I believe another $1800 GMS. There is a LOT of negotiating room here. $1000 Camaro rebate $1000 GM Emp allowance $750 USAA $500 GM Emp bonus cash $500 Bonus cash Some dealers treating the 1LE as if it's a one off. If it's Tom Gill Chevy,Wyler and specifically Jake Sweeney...run. I had my run in with all three over this past June when I realized IOM was out the door for 14 and wanted a 13 1LE BAD! One dealer lied (Sweeney) and the other two believed the 1LE could walk on water. Needless to say...Wyler held onto the car until I believe 2 weeks ago and was a car produced in Feb. My point? You have a LOT of negotiating power with this Dead new stock. After 5-6 months of it not being started up...moved, driven, it is a proven FACT these cars have FAR more issues with warranties..
