A HUGE congratulations to GM!

And who would have thought a Tahoe would win 'Green Car of the Year'?!

Very impressive.

Anyone can make a compact car clean and efficient. It takes real skill to make a large SUV like the Tahoe clean and efficient.

I wonder when the diehards of the Japnanesse cars will give up their gas guzzlers . . .

It looks like they had a good variety of judges for that. Mr Shelby, Jay Leno, guy from Sierra Club and so on.I wouldn't be surprised if GM takes the top spot next year with the Silverado Hybrid.

You and me both.

We're trading in the Tahoe here in the next week or so for an Enclave, but I wouldn't mind getting the Silverado Hybrid. I could actually drive my entire trip to work such that the truck would be electric only. It might take me an extra 2 minutes, but no gas used all week long....that would be sweet.

It would also leave more for me to run in the Camaro

According to what I've read about the Silverado Hybrid, it will operate solely on electric power up to 30mph, loaded, unloaded, towing or not, up to 30mph it's electric only. To get to work, I currently cut through 2 neighborhoods and then drive just about a mile and a half down a major street and part of a frontage road to get there. But, I could go a slightly different route that would take me through 1 additional neighborhood and over about half a mile of a major street, but the speed limit on that street is pretty low.

So, I could actually make the entire trip to work under 30mph and go completely electric while still having all the towing/load hauling/people moving/4x4 capabilities of my Silverado. I like that idea.
