Expect the LSA with minor HP bumps, maybe a different tune! That was the rumor floating around.

I think Z28 sounds cooler than SS because SS gets thrown around today very easily in lineups. I'm also biased because my father's first car was a Z28. Also if they made our SS the top dog in performance alot of people would be pissed that the Camaro didn't have a true competitor to the GT500. And for GM to add a Z28 to the lineup and make it like our SS and just make the SS the Z28 we want wouldn't make any sense at this point. Right now the Z28 should be the top dog, the Z28 is the epitomy of Camaro and we need the nameplate back for the 21st Century!

I work at a chevy dealership and ours also says it's gonna be a 2012. so we are looking at mid to late 2011 for Z28s just like all other models. so early 2011 is correct for orders. it may take a while for production to get going depending on how diff. the Z28 is from the v-6 &v-8 camaros. we will see hmm.

My dealer also just confirmed some questions I had for him. The post a month or two ago said that Z28 driveshafts were ordered by the team working on the Z28, this is true. Also the style of the Z28 should look alot like the picture from Motor Trend and the model that was pictured with the Convertible next to it a couple of months ago. It was a silver one in the pic with black or cyber gray stripes on the roof and hood. And, lastly the images of the White prototype car on the track is infact a pre-pro Z28, which if you look close enough to the grill looks very similiar to the Motor Trend pic and the model shown in the other pic. It is a heritage cross shaped grille!

It sure would be nice to be able to get a 1SS version of the Z/28 for +10K over the 1SS or about 42K!! They would have a hit on thier hands!!

I can see the Z28 starting somewhere in the $43k-$45k range. It will no doubt be a bargain for what it is. But it is not meant to be a hit in my mind, the SS is for the everyday guy, affordable and attainable by most in today's market where the average car purchase is somewhere around $29k-$31k. The Z28 is not going to be as attainable, but it will be a bargain performer that is attainable to alot of people looking for cars that perform similiar in other or the same class.

The New Z or ...
This is supposed to be Bumble Bee for the 3rd Transformer's movie, but is it also the new Z28? It obviously has some Leno bits, but wouldn't GM use the movie to market the Z28 just like it has for the Camaro in general? HMMMMMMMMMM!

Gm used Transformers in 2006 to market the 2010 Camaro. The movie came out 3 years prior to the release of the actual production car. So I suspect that the Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen Bumblebee is the Z28 which will be released in 2011 as a 2012. It has the same design and style as the anticipated Z28 sketches from Motor Trend and GM diecast car models. Now this new Bumblebee from T3 could easily be an homage to the Jay Leno Camaro simply because he is an enthusiast and the car has gotten alot of attention from aftermarket companmies. Or it could be to see how the public reacts to it maybe for a future 4-cyl turbo or V6 turbo model to replace the V6 we have now. I wouldn't be shocked if this was GM's thinking. The truth is Ford just made big strides over their previous V6 in the Mustang to bring it to the Camaro's level. Now when the Camaro came out the V6 had almost as much HP as the outgoing V8 Mustang GT. Could GM use that same strategy when they give bumps of power to the V8 and V6 in the coming years? Maybe. Have a V6 Turbo with similiar HP to the Mustang GT and have the SS make a mockery of the GT and the Z28 and GT500 battle for pony car supremacy! By the way my money is on the Z28 for "King of the Hill"

that might be the future stylistic direction for the Gen6 - not the wing spoiler but the "toned down" appearance of the front. Just like the 2010 Mustang toned down the raw aggressive look of the Mustang to be something more subdued and sporty, I think that will be the same direction for the Gen6.
