2016 M3 vs cammed auto 5th gen
Buddy picked up one of these with a manual and performance pack which is probably like a 20k option for different seats and wheels (makes 444 hp at crank) but he's been saying some people are dynoing close to 440. He's experienced so not banking on any amateur moves. Oh and it weighs like 3400ish if I'm not mistaken.
I have an '11 l99 jre cam, headers full exhaust, vararam, and 20 in DRs. Most races I've had I had a pretty good idea on what the outcome most likely would be but this one I'm not sure about. I've gone 12.4 @ 117 and his car stock is rated at 12.4 @ 117 I know everyone's gonna say race and find out and I will. Just picking your brains. |

Oh I know lol your right. I don't think he's ready for that yet... modding a 70k has got to be scary. The only measurement we've had so far is one of our buddies has an N54 335 and he's full bolt ons, tune, e85 and I dust him pretty bad from a roll, whereas the 335 was on the M3's rear quarter. Only thing I'm nervous about is my car stops pulling hard after 3rd gear and I think his twins will keep him scooting all the way through the gears.

Don't see why your car is only running 12.4@117 very low numbers for a cammed car

You should be running 11.7-11.9. But anyway. He's a stick. your a auto. Advantage you. Your on Drag radials. He's on stockers. Advantage you. Your race to lose.

Lower the PSI on the tires. You should be getting at least a 1.8 60'. What was your 60' on the 12.4 run

Well your all right but overlooking 1 thing... I'm leaving from damn near idle. And tire pressure is around 20. My drag times are not impressive but Ive beat 2 full bolt on coyotes from a roll both manual with good drivers who get into the 11s all day at the track. So I know she has the steam for an 11s run. It's my 60s that suck like someone mentioned, usually 2.0 and higher

Yea typo. I had the red 11 L99 pictured in the info box to the left.. I'll edit the above post. The point I was trying to make is the auto is usually faster than a manual.

Even with the typo I knew what you meant, but is it even relevant without a stall? And to be honest it's going to be a 40 to 120 run , so mostly concerned with top end

If you want the best track launch. Of course it's relevant. I Don't roll race. But if that's what your doing. Then all the advantages you have will be null and void for the most part. Turbo cars pull very hard up top. So he might drive around you if your going to 120.
