I don't want to speak for him, but I have a collection of vintage firearms- not as extensive as his, but same idea.

I get mine several ways-

Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). That's where I got my 1944 Springfield M1 rifle. It still amazes me that I can hold history in my hands.

Shotgun news. I bought my 1944 Spreewerk P.38 from an ad there.

Local Gun Shop. That's where I got my 1943 Inland M1 carbine.

Gun show. That's where I got my 1918 Colt model of 1911 and also my 1920 Colt Model of 1903 'hammerless'

Online forum. I purchased my 1943 Remington M1903A3 from another collector I was in touch with online. I also bought many parts through this same website- usmilitaria.com

Gunbroker. I have only purchased accessories and parts through gunbroker but many vintage firearms are for sale there.

There's an LGS about 40 minutes from me that currently has a Mauser C96, A P1917 'Eddystone', a K98, and an M38 for sale. They also have consignment sales that are un-listed on their website, they typically have two or three M1 rifles and a couple 1903A3s on consignment and maybe a K31 or two. Two years ago they had an M1C (WWII garand sniper rifle) but I wasn't paying three grand for the honor of owning it. They have had M1A1s (paratrooper M1 carbine), K98 snipers, Remington-Rand M1911A1s, WWI Lugers, etc. They don't specialize in old guns, either. Just a popular shop.

They are out there if you start looking

The M1 carbine and Garand I got from my father. A lot of them I've had for quite a long time and bought them from Big 5, local shops, and gun shows. More recently I've bought a few from Gun Broker.com. I have several other Mausers, Mosin Nagants, and an Enfield Jungle carbine I didn't show.

If anyone is looking for a nice S&W M&P AR15ts. I have a near new one I might be interested in selling to raise some car mod money. Perfect condition. PM me if local to SE Mi and interested.

Shoots 5.56 or .223, lots of extras and 5.56 ammo. Case, bipod grip, manual, various capacity magazines... Purchased new last year, has about 200 rds through it. Never a misfire or jamb. Cleaned/lubed after every trip to range.

Hey guys and girls. I'm just on the verge of getting my first gun(s). I just wanted to know what kind of gun safe or vault thing you would recommend. They are pretty much required by law here in Canada so I will definitely have to get one eventually. Any brand names or size tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
