Question Does this kind of place exist?

Hi everyone, Is there any place that will rent tools and space for you to work on your own cars in Socal near SGV? I'm looking for a place like that to make working on my car easier. I sometimes need specialty tools or run into a problem which always makes the work longer than I expected. It would be even better if they have a lift and other equipment. Something like a self-serve garage or DIY garage. Any info would be very helpful.

Only places I've seen like that are the Hobby Shops on military installations.

I've wished for years that there was a civilian equivalent of the military hobby shops. I LOVED that for a few measly bucks, I could rent a garage, with tools, a lift, lights, power, heat/ AC, everything but a fridge full of beer. I have no idea why there are not businesses like this, as I have no doubt that they would be wildly successful.

I saw a commercial the other day for IDK I think it was Vistaprints and the featured businesses was just that.

I think the problem is there is no honor among civilians like there is in the Military. Half your tools would grow legs.

Ok, after digging a little I actually found a place called “Your Dream Garage “I went to check them out yesterday to do my brakes. I tell you what, this place is legit. I rented a bay with a lift for an hour with no problems what so ever. They have every tool you can imagine. From tire mounting machines to hand and air tools to high end scan tools... The place is clean, well lit and easy to get to. If you are in or around the Los Angeles area and need a to work on your car, you can’t beat it... I told the guys there I would spread the word for them so here is a shameless plug on their behalf.. Check them out @ urdreamgarage.com

I heard a radio ad once on vacation for such a place. It was in Colorado. I've heard of similar shops in a few other places as well, though generally few and far between.

I like the idea, though. There are a bunch of jobs I know how to do on my own car, but never do because it is too much of a pain in the driveway without the proper tools or equipment.
