Please don't shoot holes in my theory, I need it to con myself into getting the 2SS without guilt

It sounds like you're trying to talk yourself into a 2SS. If you have the means go for it! You won't regret it!
If it's going to break the bank, then be conservative and don't overextend yourself financially.

I do wish I had the 2013 Nav system, HUD, back up camera and all that good stuff, but I realize that I love my car without that stuff and don't need to keep up with the jones' to have a nice car.

I was perfectly happy with our 2010 1LT until I visited my son in May of 2012 and got to ride with him to the beach in his 2011 2SS convertible. Within a month I had made a deal with Becky D on a 2012 1LT convertible and not regretted for one second of my decision.

When I first but a car it never feels like mine - until I mod it to my personal taste. Then I'm bored and want to change, usually every 5 years. I want the SS I now have to be differant - I want to keep it as I put more into the mods than the sticker price I paid for it. I went to the last car show and every car looked great - they usually do when there indoors, under the lights and perfectly clean.

I will never sell my 2010, instead I will likely buy another SS. If I like the 2014 I will probably buy one.

It never quits does it. I was really happy when i got my first Camaro 1.5 years ago , Now all i can think of is trading up to a SS, I have even went into the dealer and once they told me $12 K for my car and trade in value i told them nope i will keep waiting ,
I can tell you one thing this Camaro5 forum doesnt help much with fighting the urge to upgrade and buy more Mods haha

I had to clean out the garage and went from 6 cars to 3 before I bought the Camaro. I'm getting the itch to fill the stables again!!! But there's no sense in going after another Camaro yet. For now, I'm planning to wait to see what the 6th Gen looks like, then I may buy it, or a last year 5th Gen 1LE, or let them get a year or two into the C7 Vette.

Started looking at AC Cobras (got a green light from the wife) after talking to a vendor at Barrett-Jackson...

I would love to upgrade to the 2013 so I can have the MyLink and backup camera, but I'm perfectly happy with my 2011 2SS!

Op, I know the feeling. In my case however, it was all about timing. When I was in the market for a new car, the 1LE became available.
