Why the wait for Zl1 pricing?

Why the wait for the cost of this car.Is it because they would like to see how many pre orders they get? They had to know awhile ago how much the car was going to cost to produce.Oh well I guess we'll know soon.

I think they are reading these forums, and seeing how many SUCKERS there are to be had, before they make a commitment on the MSRP

I think there still playing darts at the main head quarters and no one has hit
the bulls eye yet for the MSRP.

This is no different than the original release of the 2010. Deposits made in June of 2008, orders accepted in October/November 2008. I didn't actually know the final price till Feb or March of 2009 and my car was built in April.

I think it is a little different, this is a special car...apparently with a limited initial run.

Dealers will smell blood in the water.....

Sorry guys, The price on the ZL-1 would have been locked months ago. They just haven't released it yet. I work in automotive and it is always set in the development of the program. There is actually a lot of research and calculations that goes into this price.

Reality is it is just Marketing holding the number from you.

.

I'm going to try my utmost to get a release clause if it's over 55k. If it's much higher I might as well just shoot myself right in the head three or four times. I want this car.

I still believe 52-54k because that's competitive with GT 500 & their track pack (which still won't keep up with the ZL Beast.)

We'll find out in a couple of weeks.

The dealership I'm using which confirmed I am #2 out of 3 on their allocation list from their GM told me that it should be $50-$55k which is a really educated guess...I remember Mark Reuss saying it will be an affordable performance car in the video on "JAY LENO'S GARAGE"...when I hear the word "affordable", a price of $60k+ doesn't come into mind, so I will assume it will definitely be less than $60k..especially if the main competition according to the dealer guide released this week is the FORD GT500.
