Back Up Sensor

Hey folks I used the search function to see if this problem was already addressed, but I couldn't find anything.

Has anyone had a problem with their back up sensor? When I put the car in reverse I usually get one solid beep to let me know the car is in reverse, then when I get close to something it starts beeping slowly until I get the solid tone like it is supposed to.

Sometimes I get absolutely nothing when I put the car in reverse! And the sensor doesn't work period! Are the sensors just dirty on the back bumper? 2SS/RS manual with 1300 miles. I find this hard to believe because the car is clean, garaged and driven only on the weekends.

Thanks!

How many miles? Mine stuck in reverse mode a few times when it was under 200 miles. Evertime a car got behind me, it beeped. Seems to have fixed itself, though.

I think I am going to take it to the dealer, still not working all the time and I have no clue why.

Yeah, if it still hasn't "loosened up" have them check it out. Let me know what they say. So far mine is still working, but who knows...

Never had any probs with mine. Approaching 1 year old soon. Def take it in and get them to look at it. By any chance have you noticed if the reverse lights are still working? Might be tied into the reverse light switch...

No problems with mine either 8 months and almost 8000 miles. Have it checked out.

my camaro did this when it had 150 miles on it but I took it to the dealer and he fixed it. When I asked him what the problem was he just said 'don't worry about it its fixed now."

Translation: "I threw a bunch of grease on it, and shifted in and out of reverse for an hour."

1200 miles and counting and no problems here, Solid beep when I first put it in reverse and stops as I get close to something it starts to beep slow and the closer I get the faster it beeps

go into your center console, and check if you turned off the park assist. Maybe it turned off for some reason.

... mine acts a bit strange... sometimes, for no apparent reason, when I shift into reverse (V6 M6), I get the "Park Assist Off" message... other times it seems to work fine...

Yeah it's weired, it didn't work yesterday when I backed the car in the garage, but it worked again later. That was the first time it hadn't worked in a long time.
