Sign me up for one please for modified, though its only a v6 so modified may be relative. Never done this before. Where best to get a helmet cheap?

Any Helmet that is snell 2005 or higher is fine. It can be a motorcycle helmet. You should be able to purchase one on the web for $150.00 or so.

I don't like cheap helmets personally.. It IS a piece of safety gear.

Go ahead and sign me up for stock. It will be great to get out there and open the car up through the course. Also looking forward to watching the crazy super modified class that will be running out there. Quick question about the helmet specs. One place I read that the helmet needs to be DOT approved. Another post said that the helmet needed to be snell 2005 or higher. Does anyone know the exact helmet requirements for the autoX? Thanks

DOT is no longer used as a helmet spec. They aren't allowed any longer in any form of competition.
If you compared a dot helmet to the latest SNell 2010, you would drop the DOT helmet in the trash.

it needs to be Snell 2005 or higher. It can be any of the k (kart) M (Motorcycle) or SA (fireproof and multi-impact).

M (Motorcycle) is the easiest to find and lower priced helmet.
Most Road race tracks require SA helmets. SA helmets are usually $100.00 more than a comparable M helmet.
Drag racing requires M or SA.. higher classes require SA.
