I have not done this, but the ECM just pops out of the bracket, someone showed me this. If you do not have to unplug the ECM, I don't think you would have to disconnect the battery. Most vehicle instructions tell you to unhook the battery as the first step as a precaution, safety first! From what I have seen, I am going out on a limb and going to guess that the new bracket will just push in. I would put the bracket in first, then put the ECM into the bracket. I hope this helps, if I have any information wrong, feel free to correct me! If nothing else, I may have given you the courage that you can do it! |

worked out great since the existing bracket was off already i just pulled the 2 tabs on the side and with a little force pulled out the ecm .you have to place the ecm back into new bracket then push it into place on fender . there's not enough room to put bracket in place first .overall very simple .thanks

I'm not authorized to use that. I haven't taken the safety course.

Ok. I fixed my issue.
What I did was cut an old credit card (Gift card) in half and bent it into a 'V' shape. Then straddled it over the bottom perch where the ECM attaches. It lifted the bottom enough to allow the upper tabs to clip/snap into place and hold the ECU perfectly. |

Mine fell off to. Took it to the dealer and they ordered a new bracket. All better now!

But it's ok if the credit card is over the limit or expired. It will still work. |
