Ah, don't worry....they are also claiming 30mpg with the automatic v6. Classic game of one-upmanship.
GM did it with the SS LS3 (426hp) when compared to the Challenger SRT8 (425hp). Either way, the Mustang still isn't getting an IRS. Check out how loose that backend gets in this Motor Trend video...

probably the main reason the mustang is gaining some ground is they have 0% financing for 60 months, that makes a huge difference in payments compared to GM with 4.99% here in canada that is, not sure what rate they have in the US.

Pretty good numbers.. even with a vacation, maybe in february the sales might skyrocket or something because we are sure to get SOME ex-toyota drivers in a new camaro... maybe?
