TVS 2300 intercooler leak!

So I just purchased this car. It had an aftermarket TVS2300 in it. After driving it for a few days I discovered it has a coolant leak which I determined could only be entering the intake through an intercooler leak. Now the question is where? I've determined there could only be two possibilities: 1) the actual intercooler is cracked and leaking; or 2) either the inlet or outlet tubes where there are rubber grommets.

Mind you it's a small leak. However sometimes after the car sits for a while coolant builds up in the cylinder and give me a shitty startup as it blows out the coolant.

Any ideas???

FLdrummer had that problem,I believe Lashway checked the intercooler and found a leak.
Try contacting Either one of them and they could steer you in the right direction.

I would be careful with that. There is a possibility of hydro locking a cylinder causing a bent rod.
Does not take a whole lot of coolant being sucked in to cause this.

If all you do is bend a rod when you hydro lock an engine your lucky. Most have a rod fly out the side of the block . . . ask me now I know

There's been times that lots of blue smoke comes out the tail pipes then clears up. Also has given me crapy rough starts... Hydrolock.... its happened to be before on another car i had...

Did you check your coolant reservoir to make sure you're definitely having an IC leak?

Coolant is not blue smoke on start up, oil is. Coolant burning is white smoke.

I have the same supercharger and it is well documented that these are prone to leak from the valley plate. there was an error in the initial and even the second revisions but they have the issue fixed. Look on the passenger rear of your supercharger and see if there is a small oil leak...........Not saying this is your problem but it has been for many people. You can call Magnuson and they will likely send u a new valley plate but will not reimburse you for labor.

I guess you can say I got pretty lucky!...

I suggest that anybody who buys a TVS2300 kit (especially a used one) test the heat exchanger for leaks or you may have to go through what I did: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...0303405&type=1 ...And that's if you don't blow your motor first!

Blue smoke on startup is usually valve guides or seals. While the car sits a small amount of oil leaks past the seals drips onto the tops of the pistons or sits on valve and is sucked in at startup. Usually clears up quickly. How many miles are on the motor? I'm guessing it's an OEM engine? Is it using any oil?
