Offended the salesman
Went to look at this car http://www.jeffsmithchevrolet.com/Ve...-GA/2780495183
I Bought a 2013 2LT/RS vert in 2015 with 45k miles. I only paid 19k for mine. Wrong to judge prices compared to my car? |

At a minimum compare kbb dealer prices for each car. Without knowing at least that for each car, it's hard to compare.
Also, the model and time of year can make a big difference. Like buying a vert in the Fall as opposed to summer. There are lots of factors at play. |

Ad is listing the High-Wing as an authentic LPO option, rare though can easily be a $500-$1,000 price adjustment.

Salesmen see a lot of people. They often snub the ones that they sense aren't going to buy.

IDK. If you wanted $20k for your car would you advertise it for $20k or $22k? Never met anyone who paid asking price for a used car.

I've dealt with many car salesman lately when shopping for my Camaro and Silverado and offended about half. Often, it's just part of a sales technique to make you think you've got them at their bottom dollar.
Of 8 car dealerships, i "offended" 3 with my offer and working backwards off true invoice minus dealer holdback and current incentives they were all making a profit of close to $1000. I ended up buying my 2016 Silverado High Country 4x4 at what appeared to be $400-$500 above their actual cost. They had the car on the lot for 7 days and moved it quick. I didn't have to hassle with the salesman here. They didn't spend much time with me. They just offered me a price after i told them my best price elsewhere and i showed up to see the vehicle and paid it. My suggestion would be to find a new salesman or dealership. From my experience, 100% were trying to play me for a fool and 75% used ridiculous used car salesman tactics. The other 25% weren't so bad to deal with. It sounds like your salesman falls into the 75%. |

My advice is to do plenty of research online before even stepping into a dealer. This will give you something to work with. An uneducated buyer is exactly what they want. I did research and looking around for two months. I found my brand new 2015 Camaro 1LS for $17000 + tax ($18,500 out the door). Granted it was in November and Chevy had a Black Friday rebate going on. I did my homework and nobody could believe what I'd paid. Actually had to pull out the receipt several times lol.
