Fuel gauge question

So today I was on a long highway drive and after fueling up the fuel range display said I had 730km to empty and the as gauge was reading full. Looked at the gas gauge a couple minutes later and it was reading empty and the fuel range was just showing 3 dashes. After about another 25km or so the gauge read full again and the range was 724km. Anybody else ever have this happen?Everything seems good now.

730km till empty? jesus thats amazing..you must drive like a grandma? Ive never seen my Distance Till Empty read more then 430km's upon fill-up

Thats not a good sign though..my buddies S10 does the same thing and apparently so do a lot of other/older GM vehicles. I never heard this issue with the new camaro but typically thats a problem with the sending unit.

Over 710 from Calgary to Saskatoon and I did it on 1 tank of fuel. Very pleasant surprise! :-)

From Edson Alberta to Hope B.C. I was just pulling into the Chevron when some bloke in a Jetta TDI came up to me with a grin on his face and said nice car I bet the mileage sucks. I told him I got 804 KM out of the tank. He looked rather deflated then slumped into his car. I think the calculation was about 25 MPG. All highway and I didn't go over 105 KPH
