2LT Front Fascia Swap w/ SS?

I am looking to swap out my 2LT Front Fascia with that of an SS, mainly because I need the Mailslot for a future modification I want to do. Has anyone done this particular swap yet? Are the two bumpers compatible? I mean, are there any "surprises" that my autobody guy will come across when performing the swap?

Apparently getting a quote on this mod is too complicated for most autobody shops I have called and they want me to do all the legwork for them, finding out what peices are needed and how much work is involved. I thought that was their job, to find out...but whatever. If anyone can help me with getting this information I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance...

There are differences in appearance other than the mailslot for the two, however I don't see why there wouldn't be any reason one cannot bolt up to the other.

There are people with a SS that are interested in the V6 facia (sleeper look perhaps?) so check here as you might find someone who will be willing to swap.

I sent you a PM, but looking at the various collision parts catalog, you can get some diagrams like this.

There is a thread somewhere on here that show that part numbers needed. I wanted to say it was the front bumper, lower grille, and splitter.

There was a guy on here... I will try and find the thread, that had his LT front facia damaged... the autobody shop orded him an SS front for replacement... If I remember correctly it bolted right up. Again I will try and find the thread.

Heres the thread... although he does not go into great detail if it was a straight bolt up. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...s+front+bumper

if you do, keep all the original pieces. because if you go to sell the car you won't get nearly as much for it with the V6 nose... people will assume it has been wrecked no matter what you tell them...

I am in the process of doin this my SS bumper cover is at the body shop getting painted I have the lower and mail slot grille ordered they will be here next week. My understanding is that it a direct bolt up just need to remove the fog lights from my 2LT/RS and put them in my SS bumper. I will know more this week when I pull my V6 bumper cover off and put on the V8.
