Help need Pedder parts...has anyone seen this problem

Help need parts. right rear shock shaft was hitting the body. Looks like nut been backing off. and insulator pushed through shock plate. Is pedder reps around anymore I don't see them on here anymore. my adjuster nob broke off too. Anyone see this on pedders parts before? thanks

Pedders usa went bankrupt earlier this year. Pedders is still present in Australia. You might want to email Australian Pedders dealers.

Wow that sucks.....well I guess I'll try and fix what I have if I can. Who has the best quality and most established company coil over.

I hope the threads on shaft are ok. So I can get up and running soon. I only drive it in the summer and woodward dream cruise is coming up soon. Maybe i'll just get rear coil overs from another manufacturer if the threads are bad. And keep the peddlers up front.

The issue is the upper strut mount bushing. Buy a new upper mount from a dealer. As long as the threads are ok there won't be anything wrong with the strut assuming you weren't driving for a long time with it like that.

Pedders Australia brought an involuntary bankruptcy action against Pedders USA. Pedders AU is a 50% owner of Pedders USA. The court dismissed the action. There is no additional information and I cannot comment further.

The OE rubber bushing in the upper rear strut mounting plate is pressed in and under the right conditions can be 'pressed' out while driving. This occurs in both OE and after market configurations.

The threads appear to be heavily damaged. I don't think you will be able to get the nut off. If you do, getting it back on will be a real challenge. You may be able to salvage the unit. Mark the lower mount location. Then loosen the collar that locks the spring perch in place. 'Unscrew' the perch until the coil sits as far down as possible or completely apart. Try to press the bushing back in place in a hydraulic press. If you can get it back in place, tighten the lower perch up and reinstall it.

With the adjuster sheared from the monotube body, the unit will no longer have damping adjustment, but it should function.

The ZL1 upper plate comes from the factory with a 'harder' rubber bushing. If you choose to replace one, you should replace both.

If you cannot get the unit back together, you may be able to buy a replacement from BC Racing. If you go that route, you should replace both rear units to be certain the damper valving is the same.

got lucky

looks like I got lucky. Threads look good. Plan on pushing the bushing back in. adjuster is bent, try to straighten that out. not sure how the adjuster stays in place in strut? anybody know? just lays in there?

Looks like the Nylon nut was replaced with a different nut. the nut was to tall and the Nylon portion was never engaging the threads. So it appears it was tight after all. I was able to press the bushing back in. I replaced the nut with a shorter Nilon nut and red lock tight. Putting it back it back in the car.
