Escort 9500 Ci

Has anyone installed a Escort 9500 Ci on their ZL1 yet?
If you did could you post pics where you mounted the control button mini panel that would great to get some ideas.
Also if it's possible to install the readout in the stock rear view mirror. I know some auto-dimming rear-view mirrors are a no-go for the display location. My current 9500 Ci I had to repplace the stock mirror so I could have the display mounted inside. It's a clean look when the display is in the mirror imho.

It seems like I read about a member doing this. Not in the mirror but an install of one. It may have been in the electronics sub forum.

It would be really nice to incorporate it into the mirror, but if the mirror needed replaced, I would hate to replace the factory mirror and lose the backup camera.

I did... but don't have the pics with me right now...

Used this mount... by far the best for any 5th Gen
http://www.southerncarparts.com/cama...nt-p-2653.html

Then I used the invisi-cord w/ mute button and light under the front of the headliner down inside the A-pillar right to the fuse box.
Mute button sits perfectly on the dash at the base of the A-pillar.

Since you have the control button I'm not sure where you would put that.

Edit: Never mind... mine is an XI... But it does pick up lazer very well even mounted high

do you have a regular radar or the 9500ci - remote. If It's a regular one, you might want to reconsider the location as it won't catch laser - it's too high and laser is a very narrow beam - they shoot for teh plate/headlights.

if you have jammers, i would love to see installation pics - I'm not sure how they fit in the grille
thanks!

This is the only 9500ci I know exists. Its a great Radar/Laser detector/Jammer. I can link some pics on my current car but it really doesnt apply here.
Saved my ass many times. I will post install placement pics on the ZL1 after I take delivery (hopefully late July).

Here are some pics of my install and the jammers. I opted not to cut anything for the interior and find this very functional. The jammers are on each side - pic shows the one by the ZR1 emblem for perspective. Main unit is right under the bow tie. It all hides very well in the ZL1 grill. Excuse the bugs - just got back from a trip and have not had a chance to wash the car yet.

I do not have a ZL1, but I mounted the display the same as Rizzo and RobMorgan below the DIC next to my boost gauge and the control panel on the side of the center console just below the 4 gauges - once set-up you do not really need to change settings. However, instead of it displaying in the review mirror - I have mine set-up to display in the HUD! When you get an alert it displays similar to the radio stations.

How did you get it to display in the HUD?

You need to purchase a module from http://www.dashtronix.com/Camaro_and_Cruze.php

Looks sick! I just wasn't sure how it worked. I am considering the exact same set up, but was worried I would lose some of my other features such as G force meter or the radio station "pop up"

That's how I did it and it works great!!! You still get the radio pop up. again it pops up just like the radio. I have my HUD set-up to see tach and speed - when I get a warning it pops up and you only see the speed. Note the escort tells you your speed and what is hitting you. It pretty cool to get hit by laser - most times I think its other cars with laser speed control.

Thanks for the info/pics.
Quick observation: are you sure the jammers are mounted right? They look like they're in an angle. From what I read, they should be level with the road and perpendicular on the vehicle imaginary central axle...
