bbk headers install question

I'm off today, and think I want to put them on myself. I think I read they are completely bolt on, correct? I can't find any install videos or instructions..

Yeah, completely bolt on. not sure if they fixed the o2 extension connectors, but you had to file down one, so that it fits. the groove was on the wrong side. very easy to do with a razor.

i know there's an install video or pictures somewhere...

Or a dremel, one thing I discovered also was I needed to adjust the position of the wire coming from the alternator so it wasn't resting on the header. It took about 10 hrs for my friend and I to do the headers and cat back exhaust in a single shot, hardest part was the passenger side.

i agree...pass side was a bitch....i got DT shortys...

honestly...im finding out now...its probably just smarter to leave the headers alone...yes the OEMs are cast iron and very heavy...plus an eyesore for shows...but the headaches people are having with installs whether short or LT...seem to outweigh the benefits

It was fun, actually enjoyed every minute of the install. My wife was even under the car turning wrenches and my 9 yo. was running tools and drinks for everyone.

Jw why is the passanger side one annoying? Is the alternator in the way? Been awhile since I looked in the engine bay since she is in storage :(

Thanks for all the info guys, I appreciate it. We'll be attacking the manifolds later today.

Yes the alternator gets in your way big time! On my uncles car, we had the driver's side installed in about an hour. The passenger took forever! I think it ended up taking about 8 hours in total. The alternator gets in your way and there are a few bolts that you can't really see and some that you struggle getting tools into

Swing the alt. out of the way makes life a little easier. Yes the drivers side is 4 times easier.

hardest part was breaking the bolts....just hard to reach them and not much room to break. Air tools may have helped. Did dremel the connectors, as they weren't the right fit.
